The Firepit & The Table

The Firepit & the Table

2 beautiful spaces in the woods potentially even more magical in an evening!

both have significance, both generate huge value and both belong, yet both have such different value. the firepit, arranged in a circle, around the common focus of the fire, the food and drink preparer and warmth provider, a source of inspiration, of creative additive inhaling, expanding environment to conjure imagination.

yet the table, the space of order and confrontation, we migrate there when it is ‘time’ to eat, to play a game, to make a decision. a place of conservation, of exhalation, of accountability of agreement and eye contact. In my view, not such a deep seat of humanity as those sitting round the red flower but a reflection of our desire to build community to together to have appropriate agreements around the beauty we have found around the fire.

Not all who sit around the fire enjoy to sit at the table, and some have sat at the table too long and could do with staring into the flickering flame but we must not let them get too far apart so it is easy and natural to migrate from one to the other….
